We have moved into another year 2016. We pray that you had a safe and blessed Christmas and New Year.
A question has been coming up from members and family members to many of us, especially the Honor Guard. When a veteran passes who do we request the Honor Guard through? The system “NOW” is that the Funeral Home contacts the Honor Guard Captain to request the service for the Veteran. If the family wants a certain honor guard group to do the service they should let the funeral home know so that that group will be contacted.

Service Officer’s Corner For January.
Veterans and or their dependents (spouse, children, widow/er) may be eligible to apply for the following benefits based on certain criteria.
Monetary benefits such as COMPENSATION, PENSION, SERVICE-CONNECTED DEATH PENSION AND NON-SERVICE CONNECTED DEATH PENSION are available in certain instances.
If a veteran, spouse or widow is disabled and need to have someone provide care for him/herself, and is in receipt of Compensation, Pension or Death Pension then he or she may apply for AID and ATTENDANCE which increases the VA monthly payment.
