Welcome to our newest endeavor: Rex Ish Post 88’s very own Web Site. Everyone involved with this project hopes you will use it to keep up-to-date with the going-ons at our Post. All officers – including the Ladies Auxiliary, Sons and Riders – are encouraged to submit their monthly news articles in a timely matter.
As most of you know, our Membership year starts on July 1st and ends on June 30th the following year. During the first three (3) months of the 2014 membership year 211 members send in their dues and earned the “EARLY BIRD” stamp on their membership card. We currently have 33 PUFL’s (Paid Up For Life) members, and if you would like to join this Elite group I’ll be happy to give you the details. Once you have signed up you wont have to worry about increases in the yearly dues, which by the way, will increase from $30.00 to $35.00 starting on July 1st next year. This was necessitated by the State which voted for a $5.00 dues increase at the last convention. On our current membership roster we have 21 “members” who last paid their 2012 dues – but not yet for 2013. Those that wish to become ‘members in good standing’ again can still do so by submitting their dues for both years.
We have all heard the saying: “there is strength in numbers”, and that holds true for The Legion as well. When the Legion’s legislative staff in Washington DC goes to Congress to fight for Veterans’ rights, they have the strength of the largest Veterans organization in the world behind them!! AND CONGRESS KNOWS!!
