On Saturday, February 15th our Adjutant and I attended a training session at the Merced Post. We were welcomed by Bill Siler, Dept. Adjutant. We were given some pointers in how to retain our current membership, how to recruit new members, etc. and the paperwork involved that we need to send to Department and National for their records.
Another speaker stressed the point to ensure that members know that if they hadn’t paid their dues by January 1st they were delinquent, but if paid by February 1st they were reinstated. However if not paid by the February 1st date, a member would be suspended from all privileges, including no voting rights,no bar privileges, no free meals, etc.
What we didn’t know was that members who signed up for the FREE $5,000.00 life insurance would loose that benefit once they became delinquent, with no reinstatement at a later date. Of course as a PUFL you wouldn’t have to worry about delinquent dues!!
Thanks to you EARLY BIRDERS (those that paid their dues before September 12th, 2013) our Post was rewarded an EARLY BIRD streamer for our Post’s Banner for having 50% or more paid members by September 12, 2013.
As of February 20th we had 87% of our members paid for the current membership year (2013/14).
Keep them dues coming in !!!!
