Comrades,
The end of the year is almost here, there are a lot of activities going on this month. All members are invited to attend the re-dedication of the Cannon in Central Park on Veterans’ Day, Nov.11th at 11:00 am, please come out and wear your legion cap.
Due to the closing of our Department Headquarters in San Francisco, and the opening – a few months later – of a new Headquarters in Sanger (near Fresno), our transmittals of paid memberships were not sent on to National for several months.
During that time, National printed out the reminder letters that many of you – who had already paid – recently received. Those of you who paid again will shortly get your checks returned. If you get reminders to pay your dues, please check if you have already received your 2016 membership card before sending another payment.
Those of you who have not paid yet, please do so soon, because for every member who pays after January 2016, the Post has to pay National an additional $ 5.00 more, $ 33.50 instead of the $ 28.50 that we pay now. This was decided at the recent National Convention.

Bar Opens @ 4:30 pm.
General Meeting @ 6 pm. All auxiliaries are to make a report.
Dear Brothers & Sisters,
We have three of ours, Darrell Beauchamp, Dan Belew, & Bob Russell who have come home from the hospital. Still another of ours, Ron Carlson, is in Brandel. We still have members on the mend. Keep your prayers going out for all of our Veterans.
We lost another of ours this month. Brother Don Erickson, keep his family and friends in your prayers also.
This month, November, we have Veterans Day and Thanksgiving Day. Give Thanks.
Since my last report of 10/20/15 I have resolved the mystery of the headstone. I went to the Modesto Court house records an purchased a death certificate for the veteran, Tony Oliver Paniagua, whose name was on the headstone. Shortly after he died his wife passed on. Therefore, a new headstone was made up with both the veteran and wife’s names on the headstone and they are buried at Santa Nella.
Someone apparently stole the headstone from Santa Nella and it ended up in Turlock.
I returned the headstone to Allen’s Mortuary in Turlock and they in turn called Santa Nella and they will pick it up.
The copy of the death certificate helped resolve the answers.
